The Yamaha YCL450M is a Boehm-system Bb clarinet built for players moving on from their very first instrument and starting to work on expression and nuance. It draws on know-how gained through Yamaha's production of custom models, and its bore is treated with Yamaha's own Duet+ technology - an ABS resin lining, developed from oboe design technology, that protects the wood from changes caused by humidity, reduces the risk of internal cracking, and helps keep tone and pitch stable over the long term.

Highlights

• Duet+ ABS resin bore lining, developed from oboe design technology, protects the wood and reduces the risk of humidity-related cracking
• Barrel tapers slightly toward the mouthpiece for easy blowing, and is slightly larger at the lower end for efficient breath flow
• Bell interior uses an original Yamaha shape for improved B pitch
• Adjustable thumb rest with strap ring, suited to smaller hands and re-adjustable as the player grows
• Body uses a grenadilla insert injected into ABS resin (upper joint) for stability
• Silver-plated nickel silver keys, 4C mouthpiece, and case included
