The Wampler Tumnus is a compact reproduction of a widely sought-after overdrive circuit, built to bring that tone into a smaller pedal format. Its streamlined 3-knob control set of Volume, Gain and Treble allows quick dial-in, and it can be stacked with another pedal to shape overall gain, used as a standalone overdrive, or run as a slightly dirty boost into the front of an amp. Like the original circuit it's based on, this is a buffered bypass pedal rather than true bypass.
