Maxon designed the original OD808 overdrive circuit in the late 1970s, before it was rebranded for Ibanez as the TS808 Tubescreamer. The Maxon OD808 Reissue offers the same warm, creamy, organic overdrive as the original, with a slight tweak to reduce noise while keeping the legendary "808" tone. It's perfect for adding smooth, tube-like overdrive to a clean amp, or for pushing an already overdriven amp further. In recent years its mild compression and slight low-end cut have also made it a favourite for tightening up high-gain metal tones.
