JHS Unicorn V2 - Univibe/Vibrato Pedal
Guaranteed Safe Checkout:
In 2015 JHS released the Unicorn V1, described as the world's first bulb-driven photocell modulator with tap tempo, and the Unicorn V2 followed in spring 2018. It's JHS's take on the photocell-based vibe effect made famous on recordings like Pink Floyd's "Breathe", Jimi Hendrix's live Woodstock performance of "The Star-Spangled Banner" and Robin Trower's "Bridge of Sighs", with a toggle for switching between a Uni-Vibe*-style effect and a more traditional vibrato setting. It uses the same real analogue photocell topology as the original units it's inspired by, rather than a digital emulation, and pairs that with onboard tap tempo, a Ratio knob for rhythmic subdivisions, and optional external tap or expression-pedal control of the rate — all from just four knobs and a mini toggle.
Highlights
- All-analogue, photocell-based Uni-Vibe*/vibrato effect (not a digital emulation)
- Onboard tap-tempo footswitch plus a Ratio knob for quarter-note, dotted-eighth or triplet subdivisions
- Dry/Wet mini toggle switches between Uni-Vibe* and vibrato voicings
- External expression pedal or tap control available via the side-mounted Tap/Exp jack
- LED indicator shows the effect's tempo even when the pedal is bypassed
- V2 moves to a smaller enclosure than the original 2015 Unicorn V1
