The Switchback started life as an in-house tool for testing and comparing pedals in the JHS workshop before JHS realised how useful it could be on any rig. It offers one input, one output and two separate selectable effects loops (send/return), plus an A/B toggle that can be controlled by the JHS Red Remote system. The footswitch is 100% true bypass, so the Switchback has no effect on the signal when switched off. It can be used as an A/B true-bypass looper for comparing two pedals or effects chains, as a simple true-bypass looper toggling one chain in and out (with no need to bridge the unused loop), as a straightforward A/B box for two amps or outputs, as an amp input switcher for channel-switching on amps with multiple inputs, or as an effects-loop A/B for an amp's own effects loop.
