The JHS Active A/B/Y is a switching utility for sending one signal to two outputs, with the ability to choose either output - or both - on the fly. Plug your instrument cable (or patch cable) into the input, then use the outputs to send signal to any combination of amplifiers, interfaces, mixing boards, or anywhere else you want to send your signal. Once hooked up, use the left footswitch to select between the A and B channels: when the LED is red, the A channel is engaged; when the LED is green, the B channel is engaged. Hitting the right "Y" footswitch engages both mono outputs. Because the Active A/B/Y has an output transformer on one of its outputs, there's no need for a ground lift, as the transformer eliminates any hum.
Highlights
- High-impedance buffered input, with outputs isolated from each other to eliminate ground loops
- Output transformer on the A channel output removes hum without needing a ground lift
- Signal polarity reversal switch on the transformer-isolated A channel (red LED) output, for situations with signal cancellation
- FET transistors give completely silent switching
- Both outputs can be used simultaneously via the Y footswitch
- Designed for input signals below 14V input gain; anything above will cause the unit to clip
