Splitting a guitar signal with a passive device, adapter or certain effects pedals can leave the tone muddy and lifeless, since many of those products simply cut the signal in two rather than driving both paths properly. The JHS Buffered Splitter avoids that problem while also driving long cable runs and full pedalboard chains cleanly. It converts a guitar's hi-Z signal to lo-Z, which lets it push both outputs with the same strength and character the signal had straight out of the guitar, without added colouration from the rest of the signal chain. Typical uses include sending an isolated signal to an out-of-line tuner while keeping full tone in the main path, or feeding two amplifiers in a dual-amp setup with a clean, powerful signal to each.
