In 2015 JHS built the original Kilt with Stu G, the guitarist, writer, producer and founding member of UK band Delirious?, who wanted a dirt pedal that could cover the ground he needed for studio work and touring. It became one of JHS's best-selling overdrive/distortion pedals, and the Kilt 10 marks its tenth anniversary with a refreshed voice and reworked aesthetic. An updated clipping section delivers more headroom, a smoother attack and a wider, more dynamically useful drive range, while a new diode choice adds touch-sensitive feel without moving away from the pedal's core identity. The gain knob's usable range has been widened to 0-25% for low-gain textures that weren't accessible before, the top end has been refined for extra clarity in a mix, and overall volume headroom has been increased. The finish returns to polished aluminium in tribute to the original Kilt V1, paired with Expandora-style knobs and a refreshed icon that nods to both the Scottish flag and the Roman numeral 'X' for ten years.
