Boss MZ-2 Digital Metalizer Pedal- Japan - June 1988 Blue Label( NO BOX) ( Pre Owned) 919789

The "Boss MZ-2 Japan spec" refers to the Boss MZ-2 Digital Metalizer, a distortion pedal manufactured in Japan, likely between 1987 and 1991. It features an analog distortion circuit combined with digital chorus and delay effects. Key "Japan spec" features include its stereo outputs, six effect modes (distortion, three distortion + delay, two distortion + chorus), and a straightforward control layout.

• Controls: Level, Tone, Drive, and a 6-way Mode switch.
• Function: Combines analog distortion with digital doubling/chorus.
•  Modes: Offers a pure distortion mode and additional modes with digital delay (doubling) or chorus effects.
• Outputs: Features stereo outputs, allowing for a wider sound with doubled or chorused signals.
• Power: Requires a 9V DC battery or a PSA Series AC adaptor, consuming 70mA
• Vintage Status: It's a sought-after vintage pedal, with units made in Japan from the period generally considered higher quality than later Taiwan-made versions.

Why it's notable:

• Stereo Effect:

The stereo outputs are a key feature, enabling the pedal's unique doubling effects that make a single guitar sound like two separate recordings.
• Versatile Distortion:

It provides a powerful, vintage-style distortion suitable for heavy metal tones.
• Combined Effects:

The combination of analog distortion with digital delay/chorus creates a versatile sound for different musical styles.
