Boss DM-2 Delay Pedal- Japan - August 1983 - Black Label ( NO BOX) ( Pre Owned) 332500

The Boss DM-2 was a highly successful analog delay pedal that was discontinued in 1983, the same year Boss released its first compact digital delay, the DD-2. The DM-2 was known for its warm, full-bodied analog tone, which resulted from a frequency response limit imposed to achieve 300 milliseconds of delay time using a bucket brigade chip. While its production ended in 1983, the DM-2's iconic sound made it a beloved and sought-after vintage pedal, leading to its modern Waza Craft reissue in 2014.

Key characteristics of the DM-2:
  • Iconic Status:
The DM-2's warm, analog tone is considered a standard for analog delays and inspired numerous other delay pedals.
  • Warm, Gooey Tone:
The frequency limitation gave the DM-2 its distinctively full, natural, and sought-after warm sound.
  • 300ms Delay Time:
The limited frequency response was necessary to achieve up to 300 milliseconds of delay time, a significant duration for its era.
  • Analog Delay:
The DM-2 utilized analog circuitry with a bucket brigade chip to produce its characteristic warm and gooey tone.

    • Vintage Collectible:
The original DM-2 remains a classic and desirable pedal for its unique sonic character, which is difficult to replicate.
