Boss CE-2B Bass Chorus Pedal - Taiwan - May 1994 ( Pre Owned... In Box) BG21819
The Boss CE-2B Bass Chorus, produced from 1987 to 1995, is a vintage analog bucket-brigade (BBD) chorus pedal, often considered a modified version of the classic CE-2, featuring a 3-knob layout (Rate, Depth, E.Level) to specifically blend the effect with the dry signal. Known for its lush sound, it is highly regarded by both bassists and guitarists.
- Circuitry: Similar to the classic BOSS CE-2, but with a blend/effect level knob for better control of the clean signal.
- Controls: Rate, Depth, and E.Level (Effect Level).
- Production: Originally made in Japan (MIJ) before production shifted to Taiwan.
- Power Requirements: Early models (ACA) require a 12V adapter (or a 9V battery), whereas later, more modern BOSS-compliant versions operate on standard 9V DC.
Why It's Popular
- Bass-Friendly: Designed to enhance bass lines with a warm, analog chorus while preserving the fundamental note.
- Versatile: The added "E.Level" knob allows it to be used for subtle, light, or deep, swirly effects.
- Used on Guitar: Many guitarists use the CE-2B as a more affordable, flexible alternative to the classic CE-2.
- Power: Be sure to check if the specific unit requires a 12V ACA adapter or a standard 9V DC supply to avoid power issues.
- Vintage Condition: As they were produced in the late 80s/early 90s, they may show signs of wear and tear
